In Hot Frosty, widow Kathy magically brings a snowman, Jack, to life – with the simple act of giving him a scarf. His innocence helps her heal and find love again. They bond before the holidays, but he’s doomed to melt – will Kathy be able to open up before he does?
What is Hot Frosty about? – Synopsis
When Kathy’s husband passed away from cancer, she never would have guessed her next kiss would be from a snowman! Featuring as part of a snowman competition, 6-pack Jack comes alive when Kathy gives him her scarf – only to make himself the town’s local criminal after then stealing clothes from the store to cover up.
Feeling safe with Kathy, he tries to stay undercover, but just can’t help himself from being helpful. Within just a couple of weeks, he’s bringing joy all over town. What will happen when his petty thefts finally catch up with him though?
Review
When you want an easy feel-good watch, and something you’ve not seen before but can comfortably throw on with the kids around – it’s not a bad pick. Apart from a couple kisses and Jack being topless in a couple scenes it’s pretty safe, and has a unique storyline.
So, is Hot Frosty a good movie?
It’s definitely something quite different to the norm, with the closest match being The Knight Before Christmas. Both movies bring an element of childhood fantasy to an otherwise grown-up film. Definitely worth a watch, but I probably wouldn’t add it to the rewatch list.
